The Director of Saleswith Hotel Del Coronado assists the Commercial Director in the development, execution, monitoring and evaluation of group sales staff, as well as, group sales business opportunities. Responsible for individual & overall sales team room night/revenue goals.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Sales deployment plan development and collaboration with Commercial Director
  • Planning and execution of customer events. Coordinate group travel schedules.
  • Manage, collaborate and provide counsel to group sales personnel.
  • Provide superior service and a high level of cooperation to customers and team members throughout the Hotel.
  • Foster an atmosphere of communication, empathy, hard work and total team commitment.
  • Work with events and catering team members to develop solutions to customer issues or problems whether created by the Hotel (e.g. double booked meeting space, suite issues or an administrative error) or the customer (altered room block after contract signatory, requests for additional meeting space, attempts to re-negotiate contracts).
  • Lead RevMax meetings (along with the DORM) to achieve the best possible outcome given meeting space and guest room inventory available. Know when to (respectfully) say" no".
  • Business analysis skills (business evaluation, lead assignment).
  • Financial (P&L, group pace, group progress report).
  • Operational knowledge (understand ops staff capabilities).
  • SIP Goal Setting and SIP quarter-end reconciliation. Learn the SIP tool.
  • Develop annual and quarterly action plans with and for group sales.
  • Keep GRC 'free and clear" of outdated prospects that have been OTB too long. Maintain standards for coding of definite bookings (rate integrity, citywide, walk clause, etc.).
  • Handle market responsibilities.
  • Meet and exceed individual revenue goals.
  • Through hands-on participation and training (story-telling) assure that site inspections (discovery visit) are conducted in an enthusiastic, exciting and professional manner making sure that appropriate advance communication tools are employed so that the entire Hotel is on-board with the site visit.
  • Assure that all team members maintain an effective and consistent plan of correspondence and communication with all customers.
  • RESPONSE TIME - Establish standards and enforce.
  • DELPHI - Understand the significance of and lead the effort in development and rigid adherence to rules and regulations governing use of the sales mgt. system.
  • Sales Training - Identify opportunities to train sales team members to become better at what they do thereby leading to greater job satisfaction enhanced productivity.
  • Participate in industry-related organizations to represent the hotel and company.
  • Lead the team to think "outside the box" in developing new sales opportunities that offer increased revenue potential consistent with Hotel goals.
  • Set standards and code of conductwith Commercial Director.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5)+ years' experience in resort/hotel sales leadership role.
  • Luxury resort experience.
  • Business degree helpful.
  • Ability to relate well with others. Team focus.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and willingness to accept constant challenge.
  • Ability to perform all job duties/responsibilities.

The annual salary range for this role is $170K-200K and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
