Sophomore or Junior Undergraduate

Performs, under supervision, a wide variety of routine and technical tasks, including sample preparation, simple analytical measurements (training will be provided), routine cleaning of glassware, and the potential to be trained and grow in the complexity of analytical tests within our lab.
Interprets and applies routine but moderately complex directives requiring limited judgment. Requires ordinary attention and care to tasks such as, but not necessarily limited to, maintaining inventory, equipment maintenance, sanitation, security, and compliance with university and government procedures, standards, rules, and regulations. Helps support other team members as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Must be able to strictly follow oral and written instructions and to work a modified schedule to accommodate sampling times. This position may require contact with students, staff, and researchers, and persons outside the University. Must be able to organize and inventory samples and supplies. Some background in physical sciences (chemistry, biology, agriculture) would be beneficial, as well as some lab experience, but it is not required.
Student must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Our office is located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, 8B, Huntsville, Texas 77340.
