Job Description:

Henry Company (A Carlisle Company) is looking for a self-motivated, hard-working, and dependable Inventory Control Specialist. Henry Company is a leader in Building Envelope Systems®, managing the flow of water, vapor, air and energy from foundation to roof. Our quality products offer designers, contractors and building owners the right solutions for below grade, walls and roofs. This position assists the Supply Chain management in improving the accuracy and control of inventory within a facility. Administrates and/or supervises procedures and/or personnel for the stockroom, receiving & material movement areas, and/or shipping as applicable. Coordinates, interacts, and communicates with different departments to resolve critical issues and discrepancies as well as drives continuous improvement of inventory control including ERP transaction activity and processes.


Starting Pay: $20 - $22 plus shift differential, could increase based on experience


Shift: Sunday - Thursday 3pm - 11 pm, OT as needed


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


* Plans, coordinates, and/or directs or oversees inventory control functions ensuring a high level of inventory accuracy and timeliness of ERP transactions within the facility.
* Maintains and improves facility performance by conducting and/or implementing inventory control activities, processes or procedures. This may include providing inventory status and availability, service of back orders, cycle or physical counting, customer chargeback processing, internal auditing, inventory control problem solving, improving ERP transaction data or processes as well as other assigned activities.
* May perform a variety of tasks as assigned including inventory transfers, inventory adjustments scrap processing, maintenance of lot traceability, proper storage identification or other activities to ensure the inventory system is properly maintained.
* May evaluate data and recommend action(s) for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
* Manages and/or improves facility layout and control processes as necessary.
* May oversee consignment inventory, make-for-hold, supplier-managed inventory, Min/Max or other programs or processes as assigned to maintain desired service levels.
* Establishes and revises work instructions as needed for departmental improvements.
* Works closely with Production, Planning/Scheduling, Shipping, Quality, Purchasing, or other areas/management to meet operational needs and optimize inventory levels.
* May oversee and maintain the inventory of shipping supplies and authorize purchases for required supplies.
* May be responsible for all allocations of materials to be shipped to customers and/or administer the review and prioritization of finished goods through final inspection.
* Other duties may be assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT


Must be able to work in a factory environment to include walking in the factory floor, walking up/down stairs and other related activities in addition working in an administrative environment, to include computer and/or presentation skills.


* High school diploma or equivalent. Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete the Basics of Supply Chain Management module of the APICS certification program (or equivalent).
* Three (3) years of progressive experience in warehouse, stockroom or inventory control position(s) is highly preferred. Cable and electronic component experience is desired.
* Solid materials management skills (or ability to learn) including customer order fulfillment activities & shipping, packaging, receiving, inventory control/disposition, supply documentation, data and transaction management, material distribution and/or delivery, warehouse or stockroom control techniques, and critical thinking and problem solving capability.
* Experience in Lean Manufacturing (COS) or other continuous improvement.
* A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization, possesses excellent communication skills, and can effectively present information and respond to questions.
* Ability to implement, maintain and enforce inventory policies and procedures in a professional and ethical manner.
* Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing and ambiguous environment.
* Ability to maintain and/or write reports and procedures.
* Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
* Good knowledge or ability to quickly learn ERP transactions/systems (JD Edwards is preferred).
* Computer and keyboarding skills - General knowledge of MS (Excel, Word, Outlook) skills.
