Research Proposal Development Officer, University-Wide InstitutesOffice of Research Proposal Development

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

The Research Proposal Development Officer assists in the preparation and submission of federal grant and contract proposals originating from Tulane's university-wide institutes and centers, such as the Innovation Institute, Aging Institute, Brain Institute, Bywater Institute, Murphy Institute and Translational Sciences Institutes. This position is responsible for researching federal grant opportunities, coordinating and managing the proposal development process, and drafting supporting documents and editing the scientific components of a proposal. Reporting to the Director of the Office of Research Proposal Development in the Office of Research, the Research Proposal Development Officer serves an important and highly visible role in a demanding, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.


Required Qualifications

* Master's Degree and three years of successful grant-writing or related experience in a science communication field, including extensive writing and administrative expertiseOR * Bachelor's Degree and six years of successful grant-writing or related experience in a science communication field, including extensive writing and administrative expertise

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in the academic environment preferred* Advanced degree in sciences or social sciences preferred* History of successful application for large-scale capacity-building federal grants preferred
