Position Details:



Summary of Duties:


Under general supervision provide telephone-based computer and network consulting: troubleshooting, technical support, and software instructional support services to faculty, staff, and students of Washington State University. This position contains a baseline understanding of principles and theory within areas of responsibility and is developing depth of knowledge and practical application. This position also supports the implementation of system wide projects and improvements through working on a project team. The position resolves problems requiring analysis and discernment of the most suitable solutions or processes available. Uses skills and abilities to complete routine tasks at the beginning, while growing toward completing tasks of increasing complexity. Uses basic understanding of the field to perform job duties, and applies learning to recommended options to address unusual situations. Assist lower level staff and temporary employees assigned to the IT Services Crimson Service Desk phones and walk-ins.




Required Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's degree in a related technology field plus 1 year of professional experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.






Preferred Qualifications:




  • Proficient on multiple computing platforms/operating systems.




  • Experience working effectively within higher education.

Monthly Salary:


Range 01iT | $4,948 to $6,656 (Step A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
