Senior Tax Accountant

The Sr. Tax Accountant will assist the global Tax Team in maintaining statutory compliance and accurate internal and external tax reporting for Hypertherm companies. Focus areas may extend across a broad range of statutory needs including indirect tax (sales, VAT, & GST), corporate income tax, tax depreciation, statutory financial statements, and transfer pricing.

As our Sr. Tax Accountant you will:



  • Maintain the integrity of Hypertherm's financial process with respect to tax compliance, assist in tax closing/year-end processes and implement improvements in these processes and controls.


  • Actively monitor and advise on US tax and financial reporting standard changes.


  • Present accurate tax analyses and monitor tax law changes to aid in decision-making, utilizing prior experience and knowledge of tax regulations.


  • Lead complex analyses for enterprise-scale projects, demonstrating a strong ability to apply tax knowledge and experience.


  • Deliver relevant tax information and reports, assist in the preparation of global tax returns according to local requirements, and respond to information requests from taxing authorities.


  • Manage and utilize systems and tools for accurate knowledge capture, organization, tracking, and reporting of data, assist in the maintenance of Vertex and Oracle tax engines, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.


  • Provide expertise for global integrations and system upgrades and propose recommendations for the improvement of application strategies.


  • Execute transactional processes, enforce controls within global operational processes in compliance with applicable standards and laws, and work to simplify and document procedures related to international tax compliance.


  • Mentor through on-the-job training, coaching, and role modeling to develop short and long-term team capability.





Who you are and the experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of tax accounting experience with complex financial accounting and reporting expertise with a focus on ASC740/FAS109


  • Familiarity with knowledge and application of accounting principles, GAAP, consolidations, system flow


  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


  • Ability to interface well with multi-cultural personnel


  • Ability to accurately apply prior tax experience to new situations


  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision


  • Able to communicate in an articulate, professional manner, both written and oral, and comfortable presenting in front of any audience


  • Ability to mentor and guide less experienced staff





Preferred experience that differentiates you:



  • MBA/Masters in Tax (MST)


  • 5+ years of public or large corporation tax accounting experience with international exposure


  • CPA/EA


  • Experience with ERP (Oracle Preferred)


  • Experience working with multi-national, multi-entity organizations





Location: Hanover, NH (Hybrid 3 days onsite/2 remote)

$70,595.17-$117,655.87 Annual

This is the base pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.






Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
