Job Summary
As the vital link between Flagstar's Information Technology capabilities and its business objectives and requirements, the Sr. Business Analyst role leads technical efforts that translates business needs into new systems and maintains them through their lifecycle through continuous improvement. The Business Analyst's chief role is helping various business divisions implement technological solutions in a cost effective way. The Business Analyst (BA) determines the requirements of a project, enhancement request, or support/maintenance item, communicates the requirements clearly to all stakeholders, technical teams and business partners, and ensures the quality of their implementation. The Lead Business Analyst role is fully committed to using System Development Methodologies to drive the definition, analysis, and documentation of requirements, developing test plans and cases to ensure initial quality and seeing that the business solution is implemented as planned and on time. The Lead Business Analyst acts as the most technical resource to other BAs, works at the highest level of complexity and scope, is accountable for leading teams of technologists, and mentors other, less experienced professionals.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Elicits requirements using interviews, data analysis, workshops, use cases, scenarios, business process analysis and task and workflow analysis.

  • Evaluates the overall business need and assists with design and implementation to ensure solutions achieve overall business objectives.

  • Develops a roadmap for meeting the short-and-long term objectives.

  • Writes requirements and translates specifications to technical experts. Identifies potential technical problems.

  • In depth analysis for purposes of mapping to Data Warehouse and source system Web Services.

  • Validate development matches the business expectations before moving items to QA.

  • Understand the upstream and downstream effects of the enhancement that are being made both from the business process perspective and technology.

  • Facilitate UAT with the Business Units prior to Release.

  • Coordinating communication between different development disciplines, Salesforce, Java, Enterprise Data Warehouse and IT Operations.

  • Facilitate priority meeting with business leaders to review requests and stack rank prioritized requests.

  • Manage the request in take process and properly set Business Unit expectations.

  • Collaborate with other IT Teams and Business Units with an interest in the enhancements made by the Workstream.

  • Some Salesforce report development and data loading.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements:


  • 4+ years of experience with Salesforce platform.

  • Proven strength in interpreting customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements.

  • Excellent communicator with ability to communicate verbally and in technical writing to all levels of the organization in a proactive, contextually appropriate manner.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent understanding of business process.

  • Strong experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, etc.

  • Proven ability to prioritize work by dividing time, attention and effort between assigned workload and on-going support tasks.

  • Proven ability to easily adapt to changes in processes, procedures and priorities.

  • Familiar with web service concepts and ability to test web services and interpret responses.

  • Strong knowledge and hands on working experience with Salesforce platform (Sales cloud & Service cloud).

  • Salesforce Admin experience such as developing reports, validation rules and workflows.

  • Mapping backend Web Services and Bulk Data Extract (BDE) is a plus.

  • Proficient with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Azure DevOps.

  • Understanding of testing concepts through the software development lifecycle (unit, performance, regression) and capability to write test cases and test plans.

  • Finance/Lending industry experience is a plus.
