DFA Pollockhas an immediate opening for 1St Shift Vat Operator.No experience required; training provided. This position will work Sunday –Wednesday from 10:00 pm - 8:00 am and Thursday 10:00 pm – 6:00 am Friday morning. Weekends are normally scheduled off. Hours can vary slightly depending on production volumes.



Starting at $19.48/hr. with $1.00/hr. night premium when working from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. A $1,500 sign-on bonus.




JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES




. Operate cheese vats on production of various cheeses


. Set up cheese vats and associated equipment for cheese production


. Calibration of pH electrodes


. Clean and sanitation of associated equipment


. Monitor cheese manufacturing process to produce product within customer specifications


. Monitor and document wash systems for proper cleaner concentration strength


. Washing of vats and associated equipment as dictated by production schedule


. Maintain a neat and orderly work area to include floors, pipes, walls and equipment exteriors


. Know and follow all safety and Good Manufacturing Practices rules


. Communicate with other operators routinely


. Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



. General computer knowledge


. Basic technical skills associated with a manufacturing process


. A good understanding of cheese making from vats to cheese tables


. Desire to work as a team with employees throughout the plant


. Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail


. Must be dependable and reliable


. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds


. Must be able to take direction from Supervisory staff


. Able to work independently and as part of a team


. Must be able to read and speak English


. Must have reliable transportation to and from work


. Most weekends off


. Must be able to work 10-hour shifts


Pollock is in a small community on beautiful Lake Oahe on the North and South Dakota border. The plant runs 24 hours 5 days a week and is a non-union plant that consists of around 40 employees.
