Position Summary:
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for leading a team of load planners and transportation specialists to ensure the efficient and effective planning of transportation routes and loads. This role will require strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of transportation logistics. This role is also responsible to manage and deliver positive customer experience through designing and evaluating processes, establishing, and communicating service metrics, monitoring and analyzing results, and implementing change.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of transportation load planners to ensure the timely and accurate planning of transportation routes and loads
Develop and implement load planning strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
Collaborate with other departments, including operations, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination of transportation activities
Monitor transportation performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
Train and mentor load planners to enhance their skills and performance
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in transportation logistics
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards
Handle escalated issues and resolve conflicts within the team
Develop and maintain strong relationships with transportation vendors and partners
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Master's or other advanced degree is preferred
Proven experience in transportation logistics, with at least 5 years of experience in load planning
Previous experience in a leadership or management role
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
Proficiency in transportation management systems
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization
