Overview




SUMMARY



Stampede Ventures Inc, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Mechanic for its lite duty and rental fleet in Nome Alaska. The Mechanic will perform various repairs on Pickup trucks, Explorers, 15 passenger vans in the Nome Fleet in accordance with all manufacturers' recommendations, and company policy.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with the Shop Foreman to repair and maintain all lite duty vehicles in the AGC, BSDC, SQI and SVI fleet and keep it in safe, working order.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records of all work done to equipment.
  • Other Duties as assigned.


Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications


  • Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License and be able to pass a background check.
  • 3+ years of Mechanical experience on Cars, Trucks and Vans.




Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics


  • Ability to work independently without supervision.




Preferred


  • Valid Alaska Commercial Driver's License, Class A

Job is performed outdoors with almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, fumes, smoke and/or loud noises.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS



As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
