Job Description:




The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at Central College seeks a dynamic, empathetic, and service-oriented administrative assistant to support the work of the VPAA/Dean's office in the best interest of the education of Central's undergraduate student population. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty, this position offers opportunities to provide reception to faculty, staff, students, and guests; reconcile budgets; maintain records; and provide a welcoming and caring atmosphere in the office.




The executive assistant works collaboratively with the VPAA/Dean to support a committee of the board of trustees and the academic leadership team, creating a work environment to support the success of faculty and staff within academic affairs.




The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to: 1) provide office support for the VPAA/Dean (calendars, correspondence, travel, budget) 2) assist in the acquisition and transfer of databases, access and review of Blackboard sites; 3) serve as receptionist for the office; 4) coordinate budget reconciliation; 5) interface effectively and respectfully with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff.

Requirements:





  • Ability to maintain a respectful quality of service while working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and human relations skills.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Experience working with databases and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Teams)

  • Detail oriented.

  • Associate degree or equivalent, with at least three years of related experience or a bachelor's degree and office experience.
