What to expect:
Martin Marietta is seeking an Associate Communications Specialist to join its dynamic and creative Corporate Communications team. The ideal individual is a collaborative team player who can execute internal and external organizational communications in support of a wide variety of business needs. The Associate Communications Specialist will utilize strong graphic design and written communication skills to assist in the development of communication strategies and promote internal communication channels that strengthen Martin Marietta's culture and brand. This individual will quickly and effectively create content in both English and Spanish to ensure consistent messaging across our diverse population. The Associate Communications Specialist will work closely with a host of internal partners from operational professionals to corporate executives to ensure delivery of high-quality messaging that is clear, concise and engaging. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Communications at the Company's headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.
A typical day for an Night Shift Plant Operator may include:
Working onnight shift, responsible for operating mine processing plant equipment and other duties as needed for the mine production. Perform daily inspection of equipment. Observe visual and auditory signals during operation. Perform routine daily inspection and report any defects to supervisor. Mechanical abilities are a necessary skill for this position. Otherduties include lubricating machinery, shovel spillage areas, monitor the plant conveyors, shakers, crushers, feeders, and pumps, and inspect plant daily.
Schedule:10-12houreveningshifts; M-F with OT required on weekends when needed.
Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment
Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer's instruction
Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations
Perform pre-shift safety inspection on the systems, equipment and accessories
Perform preventative maintenance and service equipment
Inspect equipment and report needed repairs to supervision
Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
Responsible for good housekeeping of plant and equipment
Perform duties with minimum supervision
Assist with operation of other equipment as needed
All other duties as assigned
You may be a good fit if you:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
Plant experience a plus
Experience with a variety of hand tools
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed
Must be able to read equipment operating manual
Must be able to complete pre-shift inspection report
Must be able to read and interpret gauges
Possess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reports
Must be able to wear all required safety equipment
Must be able to communicate over CB radio or with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipment
Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner
Must be service oriented with proven abilityto work in a TEAM environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection
Must be able to work at various heights
Must be ableto climb stairs to a height of 100 ft. and work at this height
Must be able to climb on and off equipment to operate and service
Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and reach around all areas of equipment
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 45 lbs
Must be able to walk across steep/rough terrain
Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
Ability to operate radio, CB radio, computer and other equipment as required
Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able tooperate hand/foot controls
Must work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures: heat, cold, wetness, dryness, dust, and noisy conditions
WORKING CONDITIONS
There will be times when outside assignments may requireperiods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty.Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 dbs.
