Performs all aspects of Quality Control for the Atlanta logistic warehouse hub.
Primary role is to performs quality control functions such as incoming, first article and field returns inspection
Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, rejecting, and returning unacceptable materials
Return products for re-work such as RGA's and RMA's if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
Communicates with product planners, engineers, and suppliers regarding product validations
Oversee circuit board reprogramming function for Thermal products
Manages and designs product packaging; and work instructions for DC & AC Power and Thermal products to ensure the protection/safety of the product and field technicians; must include the ability to use hand tools and power drills for building and designing specialize crating
Monitors, communicates, and improve key supply chain KPI's, including OTD.
Works to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
Leads process, product, and systematic continuous improvement projects; uses Six Sigma tools and techniques, assigns project team tasks and uses the stages of the Six Sigma or DMAIC processes to complete improvement projects
Helps organizations reduce defects and maximize product and service quality
Applies Lean Manufacturing principles to remove process steps that provide no value to the customer and reduce waste
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for upper management regarding status of projects or fiscal year cost savings objectives
Drives "Zero Defect" mentality within the supply base and 3rd party logistic support
Record, collects and analyze data to make sound decision to implement improvements
Ensures corrective actions and communications of technical issues and Miss-Shipments are clear, concise, and easily understood
Manages Vertiv Services Supplier Corrective Action system
Manages Vertiv Services Internal & External Corrective Action system
Leads problem-solving initiative using the 8D problem-solving process to help identify the root-cause
Works closely with customer to keep a strong bond with communication until the problem has been resolved
Review and monitor corrective, preventive actions, and Miss-Shipment reports to identify trends, root-causes, and areas of opportunities for improvements
Manage and maintains the company's quality audit programs for Age Sensitive and Date Code products
Assist Logistic/warehouse management with auditing program to ensure 3rd company is within compliance of the company policies for managing age sensitive and date code products
Enforces FIFO to ensure products are pulled and picked based on the date code specification
Work closely with suppliers and customers to identify any age sensitive and date code problems
Manages outbound, and repack department spot check audits and document controls systems
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Business, Engineering, or related Technical Field. Proficient in data analysis, performance metrics, and 8D problem-solving. Six Sigma (DAMIC) experience a plus.
Strong quality control, warehousing, and logistic understanding
Experience with supply chain initiative
5+ years' experience in a similar role preferred
Proficient in MS Office. Smart Sheet is a plus
Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize assignments
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Experience with MRP, and EDI systems (Oracle is preferred)
Ability to use Minitab and other statistically tools and methods
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
Ability to lift 50lbs. occasionally and walk, seat, and stand for periods of time
