Job Description:

Vericast is looking to add a Lead Accounts Payable Specialist to their team! The Lead will work under the leadership of the Accounts Payable Manager to assist with managing the day-to-day activities in the Accounts Payable department. They will provide leadership, instruction and assistance to the AP team in order to achieve P2P goals as well as providing coaching and guidance to team members to execute processes efficiently.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for planning team workloads and delegating tasks out evenly among the team so that multiple team members know each task within the team ensuring back-up knowledge is retained for all duties. Ensures team members have job duties that are thoroughly documented and reviewed annually.

  • Provide training & coaching to employees so that the entire Accounts Payable process is continually streamlined and error free.

  • Create and maintain a healthy and motivating work environment and atmosphere.

  • Provides timely internal and external customer service through problem solving, responding to vendor inquiries, and ultimately helping the team meet requirements and deadlines.

  • Manage audit inquiries from internal, external, and state audit requests.

  • Identify and implement process improvements opportunities to drive quality, reduce costs, increase productivity, and reduce cycle time.

  • Ensures team members have job duties/tasks that are thoroughly documented and reviewed annually.

  • Reconcile accounts and prepare reporting as assigned.

  • Responsible for 1099 administration, expert knowledge of 1099 requirements, timely submission of 1099 filings, responding to all IRS inquiries and any other 1099 issues.

  • Supports company initiatives such as system upgrades, acquisitions, divestitures, process improvements and all other project work, as a subject matter expert for P2P team.

EDUCATION

  • Associate degree in accounting finance or other business-related field and/or

  • 5-8 or more years' experience in Accounts Payable and P2P experience.


EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
  • Extensive knowledge of P2P business processes and problem solving for all types of P2P issues, payment processing, 1099 expertise, and audit support.

  • Expert in Accounts Payable related best practice strategies and tactics including organization, governance, processes, policies, and technologies.

  • Someone who is proven to be proactive, a self-starter, who operates with the highest level of integrity and honesty, reliable and trustworthy.

  • Ability to operate independently and in collaboration with other upstream/downstream stakeholders/functional teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Understands change management and assists internal customers providing guidance and training with regards to Accounts Payable processes.

  • Highly organized with the ability to plan, assign, direct, manage, and perform work as required.

  • Strong organization and time management skills; must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to delegate efficiently and effectively.

  • Provide data and root cause analysis to support continuous process improvement.

  • Excellent knowledge of financial systems and how Accounts Payable operates.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Participate on teams as related to system upgrades, acquisitions, divestitures, and any other project work as assigned.

DECISION MAKING

  • Assist AP Manager with hiring, guiding, monitoring, motivating, supporting, and leading employees.

  • Provide feedback on individual team member performance to AP Manager.

  • Requires understanding and execution of established policies and creative thinking to further develop and improve processes.

Base Salary: $65,000-$70,000

The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
