Job Description




This indivdual will support Sample Management for our Professional Scientific Services group in the Gaithersburg, MD area.




Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:



• The candidate will be primarily responsible for receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of samples and standards for analytical testing, utilizing computer-based asset management systems.


• Prepares aliquots of samples and labels using automated systems.


• Reviews documentation to ensure completeness of paperwork submission. She/he/they will also be responsible for organization and maintenance of environmental chambers and ensure that samples are stored in appropriate temperature conditions.


• Candidate must have excellent organizational and time management skills, and ability to work as part of a team.


• Candidate will need to interact with other team members from different departments to address their concerns, answer their questions and assist them with their needs.


• The candidate will complete and document activities in accordance with established site specific GxP, SOP, and protocols.


• Recognizes any deviations from project guidelines, determines appropriate course of action, and notifies applicable personnel.


• Applicants must be willing to work around and handle unknown health risk material in a Biosafety level 2/3 Environment.



Qualifications




The ideal candidate would possess:



• Experience in customer service


• Experience with receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of samples for analytical testing


• Experience with labeling and distribution of reference standards


• Experience maintaining environmental chambers


• Strong organizational and time management skills


• Experience with data management is preferred


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude


• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies



Basic Minimum Qualifications:



• Associate degree with experience or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field


• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
