GPIis seeking a full-time Transportation Project Manager for our growing Transportation Group in our Boston, MA office. We are looking for an individual that is ready to work collectively with a multi-discipline team of engineers in a dynamic office environment on interesting and challenging projects. Projects in our New England offices involve varying types of roadway, bridge, intersection, and trail designs with a focus on 'complete streets' projects. Responsibilities:



  • Ability to take the primary supervisory role in the design and development of Plans, Specifications and Estimates for transportation projects under the oversight of the Director of Transportation Engineering

  • Supervising/mentoring team members in the development of transportation design projects

  • Producing designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or providing technical design guidance to other team members

  • Developing project contracts, schedules, and budgets

  • Managing projects for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), City of Boston and/or other Massachusetts municipal clients

  • Presenting highway related design elements to clients and stakeholders

  • Assisting with quality control of construction plans and design documents generated by other team members to ensure quality objectives are met


Qualifications:



  • BS in Civil Engineering

  • Massachusetts PE license

  • Thorough understanding of PROWAG and ADA accessibility standards

  • Proficiency using AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Experience in developing quantity and cost estimates

  • Familiarity with developing specifications and construction bid documents

  • Able to interpret and apply technical information contained in procedures and manuals (including state specific manuals) to accomplish the design process for assigned projects

  • Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team to meet challenging design and schedule requirements

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills

  • Progressive experience in highway design for public agencies

  • MassDOT and/or MA municipal clients in Metro Boston experience a plus

  • Working knowledge of current NACTO and 'Complete Streets' guidelines a plus

  • Understanding of green infrastructure and sustainable design practices a plus




Requirements



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration

  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members

  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
