Wyoming Department of Family Services requires that every child/adolescent in the care and custody of the Department of Family Services (DFS) will have an independent assessment prior to admission to a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) per the Families First Prevention Services Act. The Qualified Individual Assessor will conduct Initial Qualified Individual Assessments (QIAs) and provide level of care recommendations to DFS upon review of the youth's medical records, interview of collateral contacts, interview of youth and guardian, and completion of a Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths assessment. The QI will also assist with administrative duties required for oversight and management of contract requirements, to include data entry, assessment submission, monitoring of timelines, and participation in team meetings as needed.
