Job Description:

The Aftersales Area Manager (AAM) is responsible for providing Aftersales business management expertise to BMW centers on service, parts, accessories and warranty in the assigned territory. You will interact with Dealer Principals, Service Managers, Parts Managers, Service Advisors, Parts Managers, Technicians, and Shop Foreman among other dealer staff to promote and inform on BMW programs/initiatives, drive growth in business, achieve customer orientation goals, parts sales objectives, and address customer relations issues.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Consult and steer dealer performance by identifying business opportunities, creating business cases and convincing dealers of development plans to grow customer pay business, achieve parts target, grow service retention and improve customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Aftersales KPI's, identify opportunities based on regional and national benchmarks, and develop, document and follow up on action plans.

  • Train dealers on how to use all available KPI tools

  • Develop strong business relationships with dealer personnel to enable a collaborative work environment with designated market dealers.

  • Independently steer the extended market team activities and action plans to ensure achievement of Parts Target/Customer Pay Growth/Wholesale Business Growth.

  • Manage long range planning consultation of dealer service capacity/workshop/technician needs. Develop, implement and manage short and long-term plans for parts, accessory, service customer-pay revenue growth on an individual dealer level

  • Establish and gain agreement on Marketing/merchandising plan to maximize use of Co-op and showroom activities fund

  • Enforce the implementation of the Aftersales Operational Policies and Standards

  • Assist in training and development of Aftersales dealership personnel

  • Improve dealer brand focus when shared with other service facilities

  • Monitor and advise dealers of proper handling of Audit areas like warranty, service loaner car program, rental car reimbursement and campaigns

  • Monitor regional CSI performance and guide dealer employees on proper client handling techniques

  • Promote sale of Maintenance plans to new and used car customers.

  • Position requires travel up to 75% (40% overnight travel)

The pay range for this role is: $105,213.00 - $123,780.00.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • 3-5 years minimum of Aftersales field experience or equivalent operation experience.

  • Strong consultative skill set.

  • Strong service & parts selling orientation required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of dealer operations, Fixed Ops, Logistics, Warranty and Parts Logistics required.

  • Strong relationship building skills working with internal associates and Dealer partners.

  • Experience in growing revenue and profit margins (wholesale and retail) Expertise in developing and representing business cases, business development and project management.

  • Proficiency with all Microsoft applications and experience working with or calling on automotive dealers.
