Electrical Design Manager

You will manage the workload for Electrical Design group which consists of <5 direct reports

You will prioritize employee tasks to ensure they are completed on schedule

Provide continuous coaching and annual feedback review to designers

Establish training programs and recommendations for employee development.

In addition you will adapt plans and priorities to address resource challenges

Manage global relationships with regional offices in India, Munich, Canada, Brazil and Mexico offices.

Responsible for execution of global workshare projects

You will prepare and oversee the development of detailed drawings and layouts for process plant electrical distribution systems for engineering, manufacturing, or construction projects

This includes both underground (conduit & grounding) and aboveground (cable tray, lighting, cable lists, winterization) packages

You will review and approve design packages for conformance to project definition, design safety, and quality standards, codes, and completeness.

Provide prompt and accurate responses to construction RFIs

Work with field teams on installations, issue identifications, analysis and repairs

You will have an associate degree, Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in a related position

Five years of management experience preferred

You will also have extensive knowledge in power distribution (15kV, 5kV, 480V & 120V), cable tray design, grounding practices, sizing of wire and conduit, winterization (heat tracing), and lighting & utilities

Knowledge of industrial codes, standards and practices including the NEC

Knowledge of air separation plants a plus

Additionally you will have the ability to read, interpret and extract relevant information from electrical one-line diagrams, schematic wiring diagrams, P & I diagrams and vendor drawings assist designers on the team

Familiarity with database drawing software (i.e. Siemens COMOS, Bentley Autoplant, SmartPlant, AutoCad or other industry CAD systems), Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

Salary Pay Range: 88,875USD – 154,050USD
