General Summary



This is an entry level position responsible for providing assistance to operators on water resources projects, such as water well drilling or pump installation.


STARTING SALARY = $18 - $22/hour based on experience. Benefits available on 1st of month following date of hire.



Essential Job Accountabilities



  • Provide assistance to operators on water well drilling or water pump installation projects


  • Operate and service trucks, backhoes, forklifts, generators, engines, pumps and various other types of equipment


  • Work as part of a crew but also expected to work without supervision to accomplish task if required


  • Complete basic daily paperwork


  • Driving as needed


  • Other duties as required





Education



  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent



Certification



  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to obtain a minimum class B (preferably class A) CDL





Work Experience



  • Experience in outdoor construction type work or related industry preferred





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Must be able to pass a drug screen (DOT level) and physical


  • Must be able to travel overnight and be away from home for an extended period, 1-2 weeks


  • Requires working with equipment that vibrates and to work near moving mechanical parts


  • Must possess adequate mechanical aptitude and basic math skills


  • Ability and willingness to work 12 hour shifts including weekends


  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions


  • Must be dependable, reliable, honest, trustworthy and to work for short periods of time without supervision


  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills in order to interact with employees, customers and vendors


  • Construction and Welding experience preferred

Base Hourly Wage Range:

Hourly: $20.00 $24.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors. Collective Bargaining Agreements will govern as applicable.
