Summary:



Provides administrative leadership and oversight to the pharmacy's specialized clinical programs. Is responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive and integrated disease specific clinical programs pathways. Ensures organizational compliance through metric measurement for the clinical staff and is responsible for quality and outcomes reseach.



Responsibilities:



Maintains qualifications to perform clinical oversight for the services provided. Manages the clinical duties of personnel, as well as the responsibilities associated with conducting patient assessments, interventions, and coordinating referrals for care. Maintains an organizational objective that there are qualified clinicians accountable to the organization for decisions affecting patients.Defines clinical program requirements to meet internal (physicians) and external (pharma, payor, 3rd party) stakeholder protocols and contractual obligations. Provides clinical oversight and direction for all contract implementations, including pharma and payor programs.Serves on and supports the continuous quality improvement program. Assists in the identification of goals and related client outcomes and the coordination, participation and reporting of activities and outcome result. Reporting outcomes as part of the department quality program. Oversees clinical protocols, patient teaching materials, patient care plans, recommends and implements changes as needed.Seves as an interprofessional liason for the pahramcy department. Acts as the academic liason to colleges of pharmacy, precepts and educates students and residents and actively participates in outcomes reaseach.Provides guidance of the clinical aspects of the program and oversight of the clinical decision making aspects of the program. Manager will provide training and development of all clinical members of the staff on clinically related topics. Ensures that complete and accurate clinical records are maintained. Provides drug and disease state training ongoing as necessary.Collaborates with health care providers to develop and implement plans of care to achieve goals and evaluates the effectiveness of the plan by examining client outcomes. Creates feedback loops to ensure clinical programs are continually meeting the needs of patients, physicians and other key stakeholders, and creates action plans for enhancements. Ensures periodic consultations with providers and practitioners in the field.Develops and maintains system for assessment and documentation protocols, and clinical interventions based on input from internal and external stakeholders. Provides oversight, development, and implementation for clinical disease state management programs. Develops clinical competencies for the staff related to clinical therapy management. Provides staff with clinical in-service programs that promote the highest quality of care and services.

Education and Certification Requirements:



Doctorate: Pharmacy (Required)Pharmacist License (PS LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. May require specialized knowledge of a business line. Required Work Experience: One (1) year of post graduate experience in direct patient care, hospital experience or retail experience.
