Job Description:

We are looking for a Part-time Phlebotomist to join our NW Portland location!

The phlebotomist is a professional representative of the laboratory whose primary function is to provide excellent customer service and venipuncture collection. This position will work collaboratively with all healthcare team members toward positive outcomes for the patient and the organization, perform phlebotomy services, collection and handling of specimens, understanding of department procedures and computerized EMR and Lab Information Systems.

The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 1:30pm.

Essential Functions:


  • Provide excellent patient care.

  • Specimen Collection, handling, and processing according to established guidelines.

  • Skilled venipuncture collection.

  • Clerical and data entry of laboratory tests.

  • Perform waived and moderately complex testing as assigned, Recognize abnormal results. Follow through with reporting/notification/documentation of abnormal results according to procedure.

  • Ability to calm patients and work under stressful conditions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS CPR certification.


  • Minimum of one year of experience using blood collection techniques in a clinical lab setting is preferred.

  • Minimum of one year experience working with the public or demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals in a positive, friendly and helpful manner.

Pay Range:
$20.76 - $29.06

PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
