Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:



  • University, state, and federal policies related to budget, faculty workload and personnel. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Financial complexities and inter-dependencies of division's budget and university's budget.

  • Account and fund management, including budget development, budget management, transactions, and reporting.

  • Salary structure and position management for the division.

  • Advanced knowledge of SAP, Banner, Excel, and other software.

  • Appropriate use of different funding sources (HEF, E&G, DM, fees, restricted, etc.).


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience using SAP for financial tasks.

  • Experience using PeopleAdmin for hiring of personnel and personnel management.

  • Knowledge TXST policies and procedures.


Job Description:

Responsible for coordinating all budget-related matters, including verifying compliance for funding sources and managing personnel budget changes and appointments.


Job Duties:



  • Record budget transactions, reconcile monthly budgets, resolve any discrepancies with budgeting, and prepare budget transfers as needed for Provost accounts and
    administrative offices reporting directly to the provost.

  • Assist budget analyst in preparation of internal faculty workload reports by established
    Coordinating Board deadlines.

  • Establish new and maintain current faculty positions in the university's organizational
    management structure within the division of Academic Affairs.

  • Reconcile college faculty and staff position budgets and process necessary budget
    adjustments as needed from faculty and staff salary reserves.

  • Maintain internal logs such as faculty position tracking, provost funding commitments,
    and faculty salary review.

  • Answer college and school/department questions. Assist college budget specialists in
    resolving budget issues.

  • Assist budget analyst and budget director with special projects as assigned.

  • Assist Faculty and Academic Resources in processing faculty contracts as needed.
