Job Description: ENTRY LEVEL - TRANSPORTATION DESIGN ENGINEER IN TRAININGThomas & Hutton is a growing, well-established civil engineering firm providing consulting services throughout the southeast. Thomas & Hutton has an opening for a Designer - EIT to join our Transportation Department in our Buford, GA Office.
Working at the direction of a Professional Engineer, prepare construction drawings, layouts, and exhibits in accordance with GDOT Plan Presentation Guide & Electronic Data Guidelines, and/or SCDOT plan preparation guide.
Make geometric calculations and estimate construction quantities using CADD tools.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Minimum Requirements:Experience: Previous Internship in a related field preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. EIT Certification preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of MicroStation V8 and InRoads or Geopak
Proficiency using MS Office
Ability to read plans and perform basic calculations
Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D a plus
