Job Summary


 


The Fabrication Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, such as forklift lubricants, HVAC filters, pneumatic tools, production machines, and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments. This person diagnoses machinery components and determines if and when adjustments or repairs are required. Level of responsibility will increase per experience. Basic Electrical knowledge is a plus.

Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:


 



  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs in accordance with OBE USAluminum Safety Rules and OSHA. (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electro-mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Assist maintenance technicians with repairs. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose (mechanical and electrical), repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to forklifts, golf carts, air compressors, hydraulic power packs, Paint line equipment, belts and pullies, motors, CNCs, saws, pumps, and building equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose electro-mechanical issues, conducting necessary repairs. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes.

  • Adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the standard repair timeframe.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to perform under limited supervision.

  • Requires a flexible work schedule, may need to stay late or come in early depending on production needs.

  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.


 


  What We’re Looking For:


 



  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • Mechanically Inclined

  • Perform all tasks safely and in accordance with applicable OSHA rules and regulations.

  • Consistently behaves in a manner that is appropriate and professional.

  • Valid Class C Driver's License.

  • Acceptable Driver's Record.

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Trade School Certification.

  • Bilingual English / Spanish.

  • Welder certification.
