The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. Join us as a Production Planner in our Operations team, where you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining an optimised executable production schedule for the frozen and firm horizon at the most detailed process step level. This role is pivotal in managing master data to ensure accurate capacity planning and lead times for assigned assets. You will closely monitor actual production status for the resources in scope, identify and address potential short-term supply constraints and delays, and collaborate with global planning and site functions to ensure both excellent customer service and efficient production.



Accountabilities:

As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for maintaining the operational production schedule for a given asset and/or brand. You will coordinate with Network Supply Planner (NSP) weekly on rolling planned orders into the firm horizon. You will also develop detailed production schedules, optimize the usage of bulk and pack materials, resolve short-term capacity and manpower issues, and ensure scheduling or urgent late call requirements. Additionally, you will confirm material availability of all required materials & readiness within the operational horizon, plan for and pack/artwork changes within the horizon, manage obsolescence and destruction process, and execute flavor management for raw materials.



Essential Skills/Experience:

- Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain or related discipline
- Analytical & data driven
- Concise, accurate and focused on details
- Good communication skills
- Ability to build effective relationships
- Confident when engaging with stakeholders
- Experience with problem solving
- Operational Supply Chain planning & scheduling knowledge
- Fluent English written and spoken
- 2-5 years professional work experience with a preferred 2 years experience in supply chain management, demand/supply/materials planning and/or a related discipline.



Desirable Skills/Experience:

- Operational experience with ERP/APS systems
- Experience with Lean & Manufacturing Excellence tools
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical production supply chain principles, GMP, FDA
- Knowledge of AZ global supply chain operations organization and strategy
- Project management experience.
- Process Ownership expertise.
