Schneider Electric is looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician to make an impact at our Andover, MA location.

Responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities such as knowledge of techniques and ability to assist in design, test, debug, modification, fabrication and assembly of electromechanical systems, circuitry or specialized test equipment.

What will you do?


  • Performs technical operations by application of predefined models, using elementary professional knowledge.

  • Work is given through precise instructions

  • Modifies bills of materials and drawings of parts and sub-assemblies, in accordance with technical specifications, customer expectations and supply chain constraints

  • Executes assigned product design - drawings and BOMs (bill of materials) according to given technical specifications using dedicated tools (Software, database, 2D and 3D CAD system...), with possible support.

  • Applies drawing rules, standards, project specifications, industralisation internal rules, internal processes.

  • Adapts already tested solutions.

Essential Duties:


  • Fabricate small assemblies and cables.

  • Build breadboard prototypes from a raw schematic.

  • Assemble and test new designs using standard test DVM's, Oscilloscopes, signal generators and other standard test equipment as required.

  • Create test plans and conduct electrical & temperature testing using lab & in house test equipment or products in development.

  • Modify equipment for experiments to improve design.

  • Evaluate units under standard test conditions.

  • Document test.

  • Perform repairs and provide failure analysis.

  • Modify circuits and systems.


Other Duties:

  • Assemble benches and other equipment for the work area as needed.

  • Provide technical support to other technicians.


Who will you report to?

Test & Technician, Technical Manager

Technical


  • Associate ET degree or equivalent

  • Experience as a power supply control electronics (microprocessors) technician with analog/power circuits background

  • Understanding of hardware, software and firmware interactions

  • Knowledge of standard test procedures and test equipment

  • Computer literate, knowledge of Word and Excel; Labview and View draw preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude


Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to risk of electrical shock

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, talk/listen; good manual dexterity.

  • Ability for close, distance and color vision as well as depth perception

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
