Job Description Summary
The Maintenance Helper handles and performs a variety of non-technical, non-licensed mechanical, electrical, maintenance, HVAC, painting, carpentry, custodial, plumbing, general repair, and other handyperson tasks at facility or complex under direct supervision of a more experienced trade's person. Responsibilities
Performs general repairs and services in all maintenance related disciplines, including; carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, custodial, HVAC, etc.
With direction from a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to tenant and client calls as required, and complete any and all assigned preventative maintenance work and procedures
Expected to support the various trade personnel at a facility or complex in the performance and completion of their duties as needed and assigned
Helps to ensure all building and maintenance policies, procedures, SOP's, codes, regulations, etc. are followed and enforced including safety systems and standards
Requirements
High School diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance, caretaking, mechanical, electrical, and/or equipment and building repairs
Mechanical aptitude is necessary; good math skills preferred
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
Must possess a high level of accuracy and neatness
Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position including bending, squatting, stretching and lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. On occasion, may be required to lift items weighing 50 to 100 pounds
Must be able to read and follow written manuals and SOP's
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel from floor to floor and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions
The employee may also be regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; regularly use hands to operate office machinery including, but not limited to, telephones, computers, fax, and photocopy machines
Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $17.00 - $27.23
