SCOPE OF ROLE


Reporting to the Manager, Education and Training, the Educator, Behavioral Health provides staff development as an educator, consultant, facilitator and change agent across the organization. The Educator, Behavioral Health will facilitate the organization’s behavioral health education programs through assessment of training needs, development of training content, implementation and evaluation of competency based learning. The Educator, Behavioral Health will consult and collaborate with key stakeholders ensuring Signature Health’s learning objectives are effectively evaluated and applied by staff to support patient care.


HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED:



  • Conducts thorough and continuous training needs assessments of behavioral health functions to identify opportunities for educational development of staff.

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders regarding individual or team learning needs, and works to identify learning solutions as a subject matter expert, implementation strategist, and/or content development partner.

  • Develops and implements behavioral health education plans for staff at all stages of the employment cycle, including onboarding and implementation of new functional processes.

  • Creates high-quality and sustainable learning solutions that align with organizational needs, evidence-based practices (EBPs), and clinical standards.

  • Facilitates training of licensed and paraprofessional staff in-person, virtually, and/or asynchronously using principles of adult learning and instructional design.

  • Evaluates effectiveness of learning through course evaluation data, post-learning checkpoints, and application of practices/learning content across the organization.

  • Supports staff development through remediation, coaching and mentoring post-learning.

  • Maintains competency compliance for nursing clinical staff through record-keeping and tracking, and serves as Administrator for the organization’s Learning Management Systems (LMS).

  • Applies individual awareness and sensitivity to diversity, equity, and inclusion to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

  • Travels to various Signature Health locations to facilitate training activities.

  • Complies with state continuing education requirement, if applicable, as determined by individual licensure.

  • Other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:



  • Valid unencumbered LISW or LPCC License in the state of Ohio is required.

  • 7-10 years’ experience working in behavioral health as a Counselor, Clinician or related role is required. 

  • 3+ years’ demonstrated experience developing behavioral health training content and/or facilitating robust training programs is required.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas required: Motivational Interviewing; Clinical and Administrative Supervision; Evidence-Based treatment approaches, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, etc.; ASAM Levels of Care, or concepts related to Medical Necessity; Person-Centered and Trauma-informed care; Treatment planning and person-centered planning; together with a strong knowledge of electronic medical records.


WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.

  • While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.

  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.

  • Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work. 

  • Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.

  • Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.

  • Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

  • Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.

  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.

  • Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
