We are currently recruiting for a Folder Gluer Technician to join our team at MedLit Solutions in Garner, NC. The operator must be able to set up and operate the Folder Gluer machines. This position will be a part of our 1st shift running three, twelve hour days.
Responsible for setting up and production running of Folder/Gluer
Machine knowledge including feeder, glue systems, delivery, and bar code readers
Experience with both straight line and auto lock boxes
Ability to read customer specifications, job tickets and follow standard operating procedures
Set up and fine tuning of equipment to reduce stops during operation
Set up, adjust and repair equipment as needed for smooth and trouble-free operation
Inspect working parts and be able to recognize those that need replacement
Perform Quality Checks and maintain optimum quality at all times
Perform Line Clearance - Clean assigned area by removing all product from line, trash, boxes, and other supplies associated with a completed order
Shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work overtime is required. Shift schedules may vary depending on workload. No shifts are guaranteed
Successful candidates must be able to perform the following: lift 50 pounds continuously, stand long hours, use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement, receive and follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects with or without reasonable accommodation
Be responsible for general maintenance and lubrication of machine
Assist with housekeeping in the bindery area
Be thoroughly familiar with all areas of finishing
Follows all required safety procedures such as: PPE's, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc.
Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees
Ability to Multi-Task and prioritize tasks
Good verbal and written comprehension
Work independently with minimal supervision and the ability to thrive in a team environment
The ability to perform basic math calculations
Maintain production charts and records
Train new employees
Give direction to machine crew through production and down time
Act as a technical resource to other departments and co-workers to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
