Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Finite Element Analyses (FEA)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design of US Navy test facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical system design development, manufacturing, and/or testing, preferably in propulsion systems or mechanical machinery. They should also have a strong background in finite element analyses (FEA) of structures and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Develop FEA Models:
Create finite element models from CAD files to analyze mechanical components and systems.
Analyze Design Requirements:
Review design requirements and establish criteria for conducting FEA simulations.
Document Analyses:
Conduct and document analyses to assess the suitability of designs.
Make design recommendations, supported by engineering sketches, to address any design issues.
Review Engineering Drawings:
Review and check engineering drawings related to propulsion system structures and/or machinery structures.
Collaborate with Project Team:
Communicate effectively with other members of the project team.
Interact with the customer's technical personnel as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
US Citizenship and DoD Secret Clearance:
Must be able to qualify for a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Education:
Possess a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree.
Professional Experience:
Have at least 5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
Work Environment:
Work in an office environment, but flexibility in work schedule is provided.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
