Job Description:

Are you a Massage Therapist (bodyworker) looking to advance equity in community health and wellbeing? The YMCA of the Norths, the George Wellbeing program offers integrative health services such as Health Coaching, Acupuncture/Traditional Chinese Medicine, Massage and Bodywork, Nutrition and Mindfulness offered both in-person and virtually.
As a Massage Therapist(Bodyworker) you will build your business up to fill your schedule. You would do this from networking and offering chair massages to build your client base. The massage sessions range in lengths from 30 to 90 minutes. The YMCA believes in providing so much more than a massage but customer excellence in a whole person focus. As a Massage Therapist at the YMCA equipment is provided along with a comfortable environment for stress relief to our members. This is a part-time massage therapy role about 20 hours per week.

1. Job Summary:
The Massage Therapist/Bodyworker administers bodywork providing quality customer service and helps clients achieve health and wellbeing wellness in their lives. The incumbent creates a healing atmosphere that promotes whole-person wellbeing in accordance with YMCA core values of caring, equity, honesty, respect and responsibility.
2. Essential Functions:
Provide therapeutic human touch to clients.Create a comfortable and professional environment.Maintain detailed client records and charting.Maintain equipment in good working condition and keep massage area clean.Obtain, maintain, and provide required certification and proper licensing related to massage therapy.Provide courteous, prompt and sincere attention to all clients.Provide clients with guidance and information about the benefits of massage as an integral part of their overall whole-person wellbeing.Respond to and communicate all client concerns and feedback in a timely manner to your supervisor.Follow and enforce appointment schedule and cancellation policy.Assist welcoming, scheduling/processing payment, and checking in clients when needed.Actively practices referral to other integrative health and wellbeing disciplines within the wellbeing team.Develop highly engaging educational content for both, virtual and in-person mission delivery operations.Advisor on bodywork and philosophy of whole-person wellbeing when the organization is establishing new culture, products, programs, and services.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Senior Director of Integrative Health and Wellbeing who reports to the Vice President of Integrative Health and Wellbeing. The incumbent interacts with members and responds to their needs and provides feedback in a professional manner. The incumbent is expected to treat members and staff with respect and responsibility.
4. Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum 18 years of ageMeet citys licensing and/or certification requirements for massage therapy, if applicableMassage Therapy Certificate from an accredited school with a minimum of 600 hours of trainingHIPAA CompliantExcellent customer service, active listening and verbal communication skillsAbility to provide clients with guidance and information about the benefits of massage/bodywork as an integral part of their overall whole-person wellbeingDemonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve their health and well-being goalsDemonstrated ability working with a diverse population and ability levelsAbility to respond to safety and emergency situationsFlexibility to travel and deliver services at multiple locationsAvailable evenings and weekends
Preferred:
Training or experience in relaxation, deep tissue, prenatal, Maya abdominal, manual lymphatic drainage, and sports massage is a plusTraining in Reiki, Healing Touch, and Cranial Sacral TherapyCurrent Board Certification from the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)CPR/Basic Life Support Certification2 to 5 years in massage therapy/bodywork
5. Physical Demands:
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
6. Additional Notes:
