Job Description:

SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for continual improvement of area performance regarding safety, quality, and productivity measurables. The engineer will monitor data being established on assigned processes to ensure good quality parts that meet production standards. The engineer will work closely with other departments to ensure the best process is being followed and always improved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must lead by example in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and discipline to documented processes. Lead by example in all company core values listed below and operate with dignity and respect with all interactions with all employees.

Will be the Owner of all processes in their assigned area.
Develop, recommend, and validate operating processes of existing and new products. Develop and document operating instructions that maintain process control.
Operate with a sense of urgency and expect the same from all parties they interact with. Lead and complete continuous process improvement projects as assigned. Lead process-based problem resolution in support of the day-to-day operations of their assigned area. Engineer will identify equipment and tooling-based issues and work with Engineering Manager or assigned resources to solve to root cause. Work with production processes to ensure that daily production runs meet quoted parameters including cycle times, product quality and scrap rates. Educate process operators on proper procedures and process control. Develop lean manufacturing methods throughout the facility. Responsible for all process related functions in support of assigned operations. Perform all other duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
Reports to: Operations Director

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience Expected:

High school degree or GED is required. Demonstrated experience in molding process problem solving in a foundry environment. Experience in the reduction of foundry process scrap. Experience in delivering continuous improvement projects.

Preferred:

Must have five+ years foundry experience directly related to molding and process engineering. Aluminum foundry experience. Foundry automation experience. Experience in core make and post molding processes (heat treatment, de-core, finishing).

Communication Skills:

Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language. Must establish and maintain high levels of responsiveness and credibility with employees. Must be able to drive excellent results while maintaining positive and effective relationships with peers and subordinates. Must be able to train operators for continued performance improvement.

System Skills:
Microsoft Suite
Working Conditions:

Will have regular exposure to foundry environment including dust, heat, fumes and noise.
