Job Summary:
Sweeping Corp of America seeking a mechanically inclined Shop Helper. This is a career entry level job that will support mechanical technicians by retrieving parts for repair and other duties as assigned. This is a great position for someone interested in getting into equipment and diesel repair.
Job Location and Shift/Hours: 10 Kresge Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030 - Hours; 12:00pm - 8:30pm.
Job Responsibilities:
Pays attention to details and observe safety precautions.
Perform basic mechanical tasks. Example; change tires, change oil, grease truck.
Assist senior mechanics with advanced repairs.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Consistent attendance.
Use all required PPE and work safely
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
Ability to stand for a full shift in addition to walking, climbing stairs and bending as required.
Moderate lifting - no greater than 50 lbs.; moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping.
Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
May be exposed to solvents, chemicals, and refuse.
May be exposed to other risks associated with working around machines, tools, and trucks-CDL related.
Preference will be given to applicants who (not required):
Have a desire to learn and advance into a mechanic position.
Recent or currently enrolled in Diesel Tech or related classes.
Mechanical aptitude and industry experience preferred.
