Job Description:

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking three (3) Field Maintenance Technicians I to join our team in Central Florida. This is an entry level night shift position that will be working on a rotational schedule.

Job Description: The Field Maintenance Technician I position performs on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of customer equipment. This job may include any aspect of field support including troubleshooting, repair of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications, and programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Installation, preventive and corrective maintenance of Windows 7&10 Micro-Computers, video surveillance equipment cameras, RF antennas, switches, POE, UPS units, CAT 6 cabling and network communications equipment.
  • Diagnoses and repairs hardware, software, and system issues.
  • Restoring equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.
  • Responds to corrective maintenance requests or alarms within an acceptable time frame.
  • Maintenance of spare equipment and parts including inventory management.
  • Completes reports, logs, and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures and local practices.
  • On-call support on weekends/holidays is a requirement.

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Windows 7, 10 , tools, equipment, and materials utilized within the trade.
  • Communicate effectively to perform work assignments.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Must be willing and able to work night shifts on a rotational schedule as mentioned below:

    • Sunday - Thursday 9:30 PM to 6 AM,
    • Tuesday - Saturday 9:30 PM to 6 AM and
    • Monday - Friday 9:30 PM to 6 AM

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
