Overview

This position will provide expertise in the development and implementation of robust security practices in an enterprise environment with an emphasis on cloud technologies. This includes the development of a defined strategy to achieve the desired state of cybersecurity within our infrastructure by conducting in-depth assessments of the current state and providing recommendations to enhance security posture. You will be part of robust team where you will have a leadership role in modernizing Information Technology and helping lead the way to Zero Trust Architecture. The candidate should be motivated to take ownership of their assigned initiatives and provide timely updates to leadership in a clear and concise manner. An ability to analyze data points, solve problems, and provide clear recommendations for action is essential.

Responsibilities - Develop solutions by researching and implementing new tools to improve the security posture of our client.
- Configure modern security tools for optimum use, such as Defender for Cloud, code/cluster/container scanners, as well as more traditional vulnerability and application scanning tools. - Work with business stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver on complex, enterprise-level initiatives that are a part of our overall strategic direction.
- Provide leadership for other engineers in developing innovative service capabilities for security enhancement. - Mentor junior team members to broaden team skills and help develop career paths.
- Audit security benchmarks using configuration management tools or other methods.
- Identify and integrate end-to-end security best practices and ensuring they are being followed.
- Monitor and report to management on current and projected tasks. - Demonstrate understanding in the following areas. - Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Network segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, remote access. - Role based access requirements.
- Continuous monitoring and support. - Principles of Incident Response. Qualifications - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field with minimum of 5 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and appropriate technical certifications.
- Minimum 5 years of combined experience supporting cloud environments, developing and administering an IT operations environment, administering servers on Windows or Linux platforms, and implementing/improving infrastructure security processes.
- Working knowledge of supporting IT infrastructure technologies and standards including software & hardware life cycle, system configuration policies, security hardening, high availability, disaster recovery, etc.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to obtain a Government Public Trust Clearance.

Desired Qualifications
- Azure certifications
- CISSP, CCSP, C|ND, CYSA+ and/or other industry certification
- Cloud orchestration and automation tools.
- Delivering solutions using Agile methodologies.
- Strong practical administrative capabilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Scripting experience in Linux and Windows-based systems on premises or in the Cloud.
- Experience with the planning, configuration, optimization of modern security tools, such as Tenable, MS Defender, Invicti, SonarQube, ACS, Splunk, Cribl, or others similar tools. - Experience with identifying cybersecurity risk, developing mitigation or compensating control(s) strategy - Expert knowledge of the latest security vulnerabilities, threats, attack surface, and remediation techniques.
- Expertise with security controls such as NIST SP 800-53, application vulnerability resources such as OWASP Top 10, CWE Top 25, and NVD
- Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security procedures. - Working knowledge of serverless technologies such as containers, and the CI/CD pipeline.
