- Opportunity for advancement and career growth   As the Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.   

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

- Perform highly diversified duties to install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machines and the plant facility’s equipment including electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and equipment. 

- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications, schematics, equipment manuals and work orders in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment. 

- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. 

- Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems, and components using test equipment. 

- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.  

- Perform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, machines, plant facilities equipment, and components. 

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, work logs and complete required paperwork 

- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. 

- Direct and train other workers and apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. 

- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.  

- Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, local and federal safety regulations, codes, and specifications. 

- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. 

- Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience 

- Must have 4+ years’ experience in electrical controls to include motor drives, temperature and pressure control system, and understanding of PLC principles 

- Minimum 5 years’ Industrial Electrician experience required with preference given to those with a background in a manufacturing environment. 

- Strong knowledge of extrusion operations and support equipment to include blending and drying systems preferred. 

- Must have good understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical principles 

- Familiar with PLC, with some experience in programming. 

- Knowledge of induction heat treat and painting processes for equipment preferred.

- Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. 

- Familiar with PLC, with some experience in programming. 

- Ability to work independently to identify causes of equipment failure and repair as needed 

- Must be able to follow direction to complete assigned tasks in a safe and productive manner 

- Must be able to work in a team environment 

- Experience with routine maintenance operations. 

- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment. 

- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. 

- Able to work well under pressure. 

- Strong attention to detail. 

- Knowledge of safe operating procedures. 

- Self-starter, with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills. 

- Computer literate required, along with accountability, analytical thinking, problem solving skills and risk management. 

- Must be available to work the night shift (12-hour shifts) 

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. must be able to climb 30 ft ladder.
