About the Team

Workday, Inc., a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, is continuing to build our Internal Audit team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead Workday's SOX internal audit team.

This position affords an outstanding opportunity to leverage the innovative products at the core of Workday's business. The Senior Manager will be responsible for building strong relationships throughout Workday while upholding the integrity of Workday's SOX control testing program.

About the Role

As a Senior Manager on the Internal Audit team, you will lead all aspects of Workday's SOX testing program reporting to the Director of Internal Audit. You will be leading the SOX internal audit team comprised primarily of internal workmates augmented with external consultants.

This highly visible role is expected to foster and build strong, collaborative relationships across all levels of the Company and to serve as a trusted resource for compliance, risk and internal control related matters.

Responsibilities


  • Lead all aspects of Workday Internal Audit's SOX testing program - coordination with key partners, scheduling, resource assignments, test execution, workpaper reviews, status reporting, and communication of issues identified.


  • Maintain ongoing communication with external auditors to ensure alignment and coordination of SOX planning, including: auditor requests/sample coordination, reliance control testing and remediation testing.


  • Ensure overall quality and consistency of audit work and adherence to department and professional standards. Continuously seek and actively support opportunities for audit process improvements.


  • Leverage technology, including the use of automation and data analytics, to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency.


  • Assist in recruiting, screening, hiring, developing, and mentoring audit team members.


  • Develop and expand knowledge of the audit profession, our industry, and Workday products.


  • Foster and help build a healthy, collaborative team environment and strong group morale.


  • Support the Workday Integrity team by conducting ad hoc investigations and tracking related management action plans, as needed.


About You

You are an seasoned audit Senior Manager with proven experience leading SOX compliance programs and/or control testing - either internally or as an external auditor with one of the Big 4 firms. You're ready to make an impact from within and looking to join a high-performing audit team that has been built to withstand the fast pace of change in the organization.

Basic Qualifications:


  • 12+ years experience in Public Accounting or Internal Audit, with a large, global public company


  • 5+ years in an audit management or supervisory role


  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration


Other Qualifications:


  • Experience in the execution of an end-to-end SOX program.


  • Experience working with Big 4 Accounting firms and knowledgeable in PCAOB and SEC standards and requirements.


  • CPA, CIA, CISA or other relevant certification.


  • Knowledge of Workday platform and/or SaaS experience a plus!


  • Familiarity with IT General Controls, or a strong desire and aptitude to learn technology and system related risk and controls.


  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and juggle multiple project assignments simultaneously, while delivering on commitments.


  • Attention to detail and accuracy, especially with respect to audit work papers, audit reports, and presentation materials.


  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication, and influencing skills with experience interacting across varying levels of seniority.



Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
