JOB SUMMARY
Global Lean Six Sigma Director provides Global Process Excellence and Lean Six Sigma transformation expertise and guidance through the development, documentation, implementation, and validation of Lean Six Sigma and BPR applications. Will facilitate building of synergies across Jabil to enable collaboration and best practices. Provide education and development opportunities to strengthen overall organizational capability. Engrain process excellence improvement energy and capabilities throughout Jabil.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop Global Lean Six Sigma strategy, roadmap and implementation plan.

  • Develop Global Lean roadmap and implementation proposals.

  • Manage and direct a team of Global Lean Managers and Directors.

  • Advise Management and provide strategic direction on Lean project selection, integration of resources and prioritization.

  • Generate and manage a resource and pipeline for recommended Lean initiatives that will drive greater advances and integration within the company.

  • Assist in the evaluation of all worldwide sites in preparing for lean operations.

  • Develop Global Best practices and associated training for Regions /Sites.

  • Work with ALL company Functions (Quality, Finance, BUs, Legal, Procurement etc.) to help continuous improvement of processes through Current state value stream mapping, and Future state goals; and assist in implementation with these Functional groups.

  • Prepares time estimates for proposed projects.

  • Define and manage Lean Practitioner / Coach Certification process.

  • Direct and facilitate organizational design to foster the Lean Six Sigma methodologies and culture.

  • Ensures that a Regional & Site Lean Manager is established at each region/location and are implementing the Lean principles, techniques and methodologies according to corporate requirements.

  • Further Develop standard cookbook and associated policies and procedures in support of the Lean Six Sigma roadmap.

  • Setup a structure to provide support, coaching and mentoring for Global, Regional and Plant Lean Six Sigma Managers.

  • Lead and coordinate assessments in order to make strong recommendations for immediate improvements to Lean.

  • Explore new metrics and measurable achievements to monitor progress in quality, velocity and cost reductions.

  • Conduct and coordinate Lean/BPR/Continuous Improvement/Six Sigma training and assure quality of training conducted by other personnel.

  • Develop and Implement the Corporate Lean Index.

Remove Corporate roadblocks through effective communication and executive involvement.


  • Monitor and continuously improve the lean initiative, related to productivity and quality of our operations.

  • Be proficient in lean tools and processes to share knowledge on a worldwide platform.

  • Confers with executives and management to implement plans and recommendations.

Internal/External spokesperson for Jabil Lean Six Sigma.


  • Report Global Lean Sigma Program status to executive team.

  • Identify and establish a relationship with leading Lean Consultants.

  • Maintain proficiency in the latest Lean approaches through networking and participation in Lean conferences and organizations and maintaining personal certifications in Lean applications.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS


  • Understand the fundamentals and principles of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering.

  • Knowledge of Quality Systems – Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Lean Master or greater is strongly preferred.

  • Must have previous functional management experience – preferred within Jabil or similar environment.

  • Experienced in change management, project management (PMP a plus), and financial tools with demonstrated leadership, team building and business acumen.

  • Strong skills in financial analysis and knowledge of statistics and statistical control tools.

  • Must be able to transform Lean Six Sigma and BPR applications into “verifiable and validated” process improvements and insure that all applications are aligned with the corporate strategy.

  • Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • Act as a Director (min) or Sn Dir / VP in Lean / Business Excellence for world class organization, with  10-15 years work-related experience in Manufacturing Management, Engineering Management or Project Management required.

  • BS Degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations Research or related Technical discipline. MS in Engineering preferred. MBA preferred.

  • Lean Master and Enterprise Certification required.

  • Minimum Six Sigma Black Belt certified by recognized organizations in the industry (e.g. ASQ, SME, Shingo Prize).

  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
