In addition, the Corporate Analyst will explore information from not just one source, but from multiple sources in order to gain maximum insight that can give the cooperative a competitive advantage

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Hybrid

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

Analyze

  • Apply advanced analytic and quantitative tools, statistical modeling techniques, and data mining procedures and tools.
  • Generate data modeling/analysis, scenario, sensitivity analysis, and Key Ratio Trend Analysis to support decision making.
  • Assess business plan feasibility by analyzing the business model, financial performance, and relative competitive positions.
  • Assist in the development of rates and apply ongoing quantitative rate analysis.
  • Performs data studies of new and diverse data sources.
  • Designs, modifies and builds new data processes.

Synthesize

  • Interpret results from projects and translate these findings into clear and compelling recommendations and solutions.
  • Present complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and impactful manner
  • Assist in providing organizational performance reports.

Measure

  • Assist in the creation of strategic, operational and financial metrics and key performance indicators to measure organizational performance.
  • Assist in the development of an institutional dashboard to inform and guide the advancement of the organization’s mission.
  • Support financial and accounting analysis.
  • Develop and maintain databases and capabilities that inform the ongoing strategy of the organization.

Monitor

  • Monitor the success of the organization’s initiatives and recommend modifications as necessary.
  • Ensure all actions are consistent with Cobb EMC’s vision, mission and values.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or Statistics.

Minimum two years working experience in utility generation planning, financial forecasting, rates, production cost modeling, budgeting, planning and forecasting, data mining or equivalent experience.

Working experience with databases, database access, data interpretation, strategy development, process improvement and data presentation.

SKILLS:

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, such as the ability to handle, interpret and translate studies of numbers and data.

Proficiency with personal computers including Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Access and other data analysis tools/software

Ability to interpret data and relate it to the company or process goals.

Distinctive people skills, strong team-orientation, and a professional attitude

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.

Strong knowledge of data analysis and modeling tools (Excel, SAS, etc.) to ensure model integrity, build modifications and apply the models to business decisions.

PREFERRED:

Experience in the energy industry

Experience with electric rate design and strategy

Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Analytics, Statistics or related field

Possesses a working knowledge of statistics, programming and predictive modeling.
