Position Overview:
ANSER is actively hiring an Operations & Management Analyst to work onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA in support of the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense (ODASD(CBD)). The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is able to take on both analyst and action officer duties, as well as administrative functions when needed. The person in this role will work on a collaborative team to perform various office administrative and management support duties to enable the ODASD(CBD) to perform its mission.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current functions, missions, roles, and interrelationships of the Office of the Secretary of Defense staff, particularly the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment's staff, as they pertain to staff actions.
  • Supporting the operations and management functional area of the ODASD(CBD), as required. This functional area includes, but is not limited to, personnel security, physical security, facilities management, task management, correspondence management, records management, supply requisitions, event coordination, training, and awards.
  • Providing technical editing support for the development of all written communications within the ODASD(CBD) to ensure messaging consistency and compliance with format and grammatical rules.
  • Ensuring that all written communications comply with DoD and USD(A&S) written correspondence requirements and standards.
  • Drafting correspondence for the ODASD(CBD), as needed.
  • Utilizing the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) in support of the staffing and coordination of ODASD(CBD) written communications within the DoD.
  • Providing subject matter expertise and training briefings to assist action officers with CATMS and the development of packages (e.g., action memos, transmittal letters, etc.), as needed.
  • Preparing and coordinating personnel packages, as needed.
  • Supporting the requisition of supplies, equipment, and furniture.
  • Preparing awards and promotion ceremony functions, as needed.
  • Supporting records management functions.


Required Qualifications:

  • Possess an active Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience OR 10+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working with DoD correspondence.
  • Experience working with, briefing, and engaging General Officer/Flag Officer/SES-level personnel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office with a high operational tempo.
  • Ability to work independently with limited information.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail.


Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience working with USD(A&S) correspondence.
  • Recent experience with CATMS.
