JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

This position is the technical source of reality capture information for various projects. The person that fills this role will need to have a thorough knowledge of Surveying, coordinate systems, laser scanning and lidar technology. Candidate will create reality capture models of any given project.

Key Responsibilities

1. Reads and Interprets construction drawings (blueprint reading).
2. Can operate basic survey equipment (G.P.S., total station, level, etc.).
3. Can perform basic survey calculations to help Party Chief.
4. Creation of reality capture using a combination of laser scanners, UAV's and 360°photo technology
5. Registers and processes point clouds using Faro Sceene and Autodesk ReCap
6. Operates and maintains Faro/Leica Stationary lidar scanners.
7. Creates Scan Plans from GA drawings aerial imagery.
8. Sets ground control for UAV flights.
9. Sets target control for laser scan projects.
10. Assists Virtual Construction Engineer with duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Ability to travel as needed.
2. Proficient in FARO Scene, Drone Deploy, ReCAP and AutoCAD Based Applications
3. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs
4. Ability to acquire FAA Part 107 license.
5. Basic knowledge of state plane and project coordinate systems required.
6. Experience with Trimble Business center
7. Experience with .CSV files
8. Ability to operate company vehicles.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
2. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
6. Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
8. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day
9. Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis
10. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
