Summary of Role:



As an IT Business Analyst, you will be part of the IT Enablement Office within the GlobalFoundries IT organization focused on IT Operating model initiatives. Business Analysts are responsible for understanding and assessing the changing needs of IT and/or the business. They are frequently asked to analyze the impacts of change, document and support communication between relevant groups and stakeholders, and capture requirements needed to initiate a change.


Many times, business analysts act as liaisons between groups or departments. They become intermediaries who help support and translate needs across business units and functions. The business analyst is the link between the end-user and a project manager. Their main purpose is to analyze, evaluate, and refine processes. Business analysts will hear new ideas and requests every day. They must understand when and where to act, and which requests will be most critical to the success of business end-goals. Critical to success is exceptional skills at end user requirements elicitation and business process creation and documentation.



Essential Responsibilities:





  • Evaluate and/or Create Business Processes


    • Analyzing and evaluating the current business processes a company has and identifying areas of improvement or efficiency


    • Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.


    • Wade through the "noise" to know which requests are most important and aligned to the business goals and objectives as well as other on-going initiatives


    • Perform process decomposition and document new or changing business processes




  • Elicit and Document Requirements


    • Interact with stakeholders with the intention of understanding and documenting their requirements.


    • Become the advocate for the business, ensuring that the various IT teams understand their perspective, and the urgency or opportunity of their requirements


    • Knowledge of proper requirements specification and development, such as process/functional requirements definition methods, use case development, process flow diagrams


    • Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders


    • Discover, organize, and clarify business needs and review/produce specifications for change


    • Ensure that non-functional and functional requirements are captured.


    • Support the business to translate requirements into functional design specifications


    • Work with the Technical Analyst and development team to ensure that they understand the specifications for translation to technical specifications




  • Support User Acceptance Testing and Training


    • Work with project team to ensure requirements are translated into executable test plans


    • Guide and participate in the testing process to make sure that the implementation solution meets the needs of the customer


    • Work with training team to document system scenarios and identify roles impacted to feed into the change management and training plan







Other Responsibilities:



  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a similar field


  • 2-3 Years of work experience


  • Willingness to travel, possibly international. Will be limited, but possible.


  • Fluency in English language


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate ideas in an expressive way that is easy for the receiver to understand


  • Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; ability to analyze large amounts of data and other processes to form ideas and fix problems


  • Ability to effectively solve problems and develop solutions to an organization's challenges in a holistic and future-thinking manner; must be able to design for tomorrow


  • Strong ability to perform requirements analysis, document options, and create standardized process flows in an easy-to-follow manner





Preferred Qualifications:



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.


  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Program/Project Development Life Cycle (PPDLC), / Requirements Development Life Cycle (RDLC) skills


  • Business Process Analysis


  • Other BA skills (Collaboration, elicitation, requirements lifecycle management, requirements analysis and design definition, solution evaluation, business analysis planning, monitoring, organizational, requirements documentation, functional requirements documentation)





Expected Salary Range

$62,700.00 - $112,000.00
