ECS Federal is looking for a Journeyman Information Security Analyst who possesses and can apply expertise in multiple work assignments. ECS Security Services provides support to the development and operational aspects of GATES, a mission-critical, National Security System application providing cargo and passenger manifesting and in-transit visibility requirements for the DoD. We are seeking a candidate capable of applying journeyman-level knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), information security principles and functions to develop solutions to user and/or contract requirements. This person will assist second and third tier technical support technicians/engineers to isolate and resolve problems with the GATES AWS GovCloud (operational, testing, development, and the continuous learning) environments. Develop and complete RMF Control Family plans, assist and support development and maintenance of incident response and contingency plans, interface with both client managerssystem users, and provide remote support and/or travel to customer site (Scott AFB) as required. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics and performs other duties as assigned.


Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000

Required Skills:


  • Secret Security Clearance is required for this position.
  • Must possess a DOD 8570 IAM I certification (at a minimum, Security+).
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and other NIST SPs that relate directly to the RMF process.
  • Experience with DoD IT networking, configuration, and security requirements.
  • Experience in the A&A process and development of RMF certification packages.
  • Experience with the A&A accreditation tool, eMASS.
  • Understanding of the IAVM Process.
  • Ability to review and understand Security Technical Implementation Guide checklists.
  • Possess demonstrable comprehension of Assurance Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scan results.



Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of network access control, intrusion prevention, and detection systems, firewalls, routers, incident response, information security methods, and risk management.
  • Basic Knowledge of supporting Operating Systems: Windows Server 2019+ and Windows 10/11, Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Familiarity with CNSSI No. 1253 and other RMF-related NIST support documentation.
  • Understanding of DoD PPSM process; familiarity with the DoD PPSM registry.
  • Understanding of Word, Power Point, Excel and MS SharePoint.
