Job Description:


  • Wafer chuck design

    • Complete 3D drawings of CNC parts for wafer testing process
    • Complete BOM and assembly instructions

  • Crucible prep automation

    • Work with the Automation Team to help design the Crucible Prep Robot

      • Concept development
      • Detailed part design
      • Electrical component selection
      • Testing
      • Programming


  • Auto Pyrometer Project

    • Mounting hardware design
    • Prototype assembly
    • System testing



General
  • Design

    • Assist other teams with design, 3d modeling, and fabrication of designed parts through suppliers or internal tools including 3D printers.


Education & Experience

  • 2 nd year or older Mechanical Engineering student or similar engineering discipline
  • Proficient in 3D modeling, creating engineer drawings, tolerance stackups, etc
  • Strong base in fundamental engineering principles, troubleshooting, and problem solving
  • Plus: robot or PLC programming, SolidWorks experience, machine shop experience


Skills & Other Requirements

  • Must be well organized and able to perform several tasks in parallel.
  • Statistics and data analysis ability will be needed.
  • Must be computer-literate to operate computer-controlled equipment and make data entry.
  • Ability to learn to use unfamiliar equipment quickly and accurately.
  • Inquisitive mind.
  • Forward thinker.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication, both verbal and nonverbal.


Safety Requirements

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.

Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
