Overview
Scope: Assist the Maintenance Technician Team in their daily task to perform maintenance work and keep utilities in working order. Engineering Maintenance Coordinator will also assist in the preventive maintenance and repair of all guest rooms, mechanical, electrical, and other equipment used by the guests or affecting the quality of their experience while visiting the property. To contribute to the efficient operation of the resort by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards and guidelines established to create a safe and well-maintained environment for our guests.
Responsibilities
General Purpose: To achieve task goals in ensuring Resort Maintenance are aligned with timeline and assisting with side work to help speed up the Maintenance program.
Essential Duties:
Operational Duties
Assist with maintenance and repairs including painting, carpentry, electrical and plumbing on resort buildings as needed.
Assist with maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment
Train and assist to enable preventative maintenance checks
Maintain a clean, well-organized and well stocked work cart
Maintain and clean the Engineering facilities
Maintain golf carts and other equipment at peak condition
Timely and accurate completion of daily task lists and service logs
Comply with all OSHA, Health Department and resort regulations
Regular and predictable attendance
All tasks as instructed by the Engineering Technicians and Maintenance Management
Create purchase orders and follow up on schedules, deliveries and closing out purchase orders.
Track work orders to ensure they are assigned and completed.
Repair and maintain golf carts and other equipment
Guest Experience Enrichment
Provide guests with directions, recommendations, and information about the resort and resort offerings
Respond to service requests in a timely and accurate manner, liaising with other departments as needed and following up to ensure satisfaction
Assist guests in all inquiries in connection with resort services, hours of operations, in-house events, etc.
Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible
Ensure all lost and found goods are reported and stored in accordance with resort standards
Resolve guest opportunities in an appropriate and efficient manner, in accordance with resort guidelines; ensures all opportunities are reported through the Guest Opportunity Log
Knowledge and Learning
Be intimately familiar with the entire property, all of its amenities and its history
Have a knowledge of safety and security practices and emergency/accident procedures
Successfully complete training/certification process
Maintain acceptable service audit scores
Attend colleague meetings as required
Participate in ongoing training

Physical Demands:
Essential duties require the ability to: move at a speed that is required to respond to work situations (e. g., run, walk, jog). To visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e. g., to identify defects). To grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. To reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. To move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. To move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps. To move up and down a ladder. To move up and down stairs and/or service ramps. To move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance. The ability to push and pull a loaded service cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces. To stand, kneel, or walk for an extended period or high frequency across an entire work shift. The employee must have normal vision (corrected) including close, color, depth perception and field vision, hearing and verbal communication. Must be able to operate a golf cart safely.
Environmental Conditions:
Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors in the weather, in all four seasons. This position requires working under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold), under variable noise levels, around fumes and/or odor hazards, around dust and/or mite hazards and around chemicals.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
A warm and friendly disposition
Prior experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting; refrigeration/HVAC experience an asset
Good organization skills and attention to detail
Strong knowledge of the surrounding area
Strong communication skills in English
Ability to follow instruction as well as work independently
Ability to respond properly in any emergency or safety situations
Must be available to work both day and evening shifts, weekends and holidays
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite products especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power point.
Effective communication skills relating to dealing with guests, other departments, vendors and contractors.
