Job Summary/Basic Function:
Provides leadership, strategic and fiscal management for the BUILD program. The mission of BUILD program is to create and foster diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning and professional environments across the university through the design and implementation of programs, initiatives, and individual/departmental consultations.

In keeping with the University's Statement of Diversity and Inclusivity, the BUILD (Boise State Uniting for Inclusive Leadership Development) Program is committed to creating and fostering diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning environments for students, both in and out of the classroom. The BUILD Program partners with the Center for Teaching and Learning to design and facilitate workshops, intergroup dialogues, book circles, 1-on-1 consultations, and other programs intended to support Boise State employees in deepening our knowledge and developing the necessary skills to meet these aspirational goals and, more broadly, to foster a more inclusive Boise State.
Level Scope:
Directs through subordinate Managers multiple large and complex critical programs impacting broad constituencies across major portions of campus. Identifies objectives, manages very significant human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with an extremely high degree of autonomy. Accountable for formulating and administering policies and programs for major functions. Operational or program results can affect overall campus wide performance and reputation. Directs through subordinate Managers the development of strategic goals and objectives to achieve accountability and stewardship of university resources in a manner consistent with campus and system wide objectives and initiatives. Usually reports to one of the following: Associate/Assistant Vice President, Vice President or Provost.
Essential Functions:
60% of Time the BUILD Director:

• Provides leadership and vision for the BUILD program, with a focus on the teaching/learning/professional environments for students, faculty and staff.
• Provides administrative direction and leadership of BUILD staff and programs.
• Plans and implements the campus BUILD certificate program.
• Work with campus partners to enhance BUILD offerings.
• Identify needs and programmatic opportunities to prepare faculty and staff growth in understanding and implementing inclusive and equitable practices.
• Plan and facilitate BUILD workshops and other professional development opportunities.
• Manage program budget.

35% of Time the BUILD Director:

• Collaborate with other campus units and/or serve on committees, work groups, etc. to create a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable campus community.
• Manage the outcomes, assessment and continuous improvement of BUILD programming.
• Consult with individual faculty and staff, departments/units seeking support for fostering on inclusive and equitable environments in teaching, learning and work spaces.

5% of Time the BUILD Director:

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Knowledge of research, best practices, and emerging trends in inclusive practice in higher education
• Knowledge of research, best practices, and emerging trends in the creation of inclusive professional environments
• Ability to develop, communicate, and implement a strategic vision that aligns with institutional goals and priorities
• Knowledge of culturally relevant pedagogy, high impact practices universal design for learning and critical inclusive pedagogy
• Project/Program management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks
• Communication Skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to manage and maintain appropriate budgetary responsibilities
• Ability to effectively develop working relationships with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
• Demonstrated Campus leadership, collaboration and organizational skills
• Facilitation Skills
• Consultation Skills

Minimum
Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• Five years of relevant faculty/professional development experience
• Experience with developing and implementing programming focused on enhancing inclusive and equitable teaching and professional practice
• Experience facilitating professional development initiatives for faculty and staff
• Experience supervising and managing staff

Salary range starting at $111,716.80 annually.
