Job Title:Pathology Imaging TechnologistDepartment:Medicine | Pathology

Clinical Research Specialist 1 primarily tasked with application of specialized expertise pertaining to performing structured work assignments such as quantitative morphometrics of whole slide images utilizing a multitude of image analysis platforms; providing support for research projects investigating a variety of image analysis tasks such as (but not limited to) detection and counting, segmentation, tissue classification, as well as simple and complex statistical algorithm development. Clinical research specialist will Apply knowledge of theories, practices and procedures gained through education to assist in the adoption of new and better ways to detect, diagnose, treat and prevent disease via the creation, testing, and validation of a multitude of quantitative platforms, and may be the primary owner/authority on a given program or process.



Additionally the clinical research specialist will provide supplemental support to staff within the Comparative Pathology Digital Imaging Shared Resource ; provides technical oversight for the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment and software for the digitizing and image analysis of clinical, legal, research, and teaching tissue slides; assists with software development and deployment for various digital pathology whole slide imaging platforms; assists with telepathology for frozen tissue review program utilizing various live microscope platforms; participates in activities to ensure quality control of slides; provides technical support to internal and external digital pathology clients and provides training as needed; assists with creating and maintaining standard operating procedures for all digital pathology devices and software; assists with data entry input; provides assistance with administrative activities as requested.




Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in general biology or medical technology or equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of anatomic pathology tissues and identification of surgical pathology procedures desired; working knowledge of computing environments, PC and computing terminology, basic computer operating systems and applications required.
