Apply coating in the required thickness to keep a consistent run-free finish and gloss.


Write paint-related work scope, and provide a time and material list.


Signage installation, interior/exterior.


Scissor lift, and man lift experience.


Construct/de-construct scaffolding.


Perform minor carpentry work such as installing TV wall mounts, framing modifications, and sheetrock installation.


Perform carpet, LVT, and VCT removal/installation, with vinyl base installation.


Assist in window replacement.


Ceiling grid modifications, and ceiling tile replacement. Insulation installment in walls and above ceilings.


Assist with all other construction fields.


Paint interior offices, classrooms, hallways, stairwells, and furnishings.


Scrape, sand, prep and clean all areas to be painted. Spread drop cloths to protect areas from paint. Tape and bed new sheetrock. Patch holes with taping mud, plaster, or spackle. Apply various types of materials such as alkyds, acrylics, urethane, epoxies, lacquer, and stains with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to walls, ceilings, floors, window sash, doors, and furnishings. Mix paint and match colors of paint. Load and unload equipment.


Job requirements include occasional use of respiratory equipment. Incumbent will be required to pass a medical exam to ensure physical ability to wear, use and perform work in respirator equipment. Required to participate in snow/ice removal if requested.


Hazards from power tools, hand tools, materials used, and environment, procedures and per-cautions must be followed. Work may occur in confined spaces and involve temperature extremes and heights. Work may be performed in areas that are often dirty, wet, dusty, and noisy. Exposure to paints, thinners, and high levels of dust. Work may involve dust and dirt, high noise levels, smoke and noxious odors, low lighting levels, crowded spaces, weather temperature extremes.


This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally. 50% of work is done on ladders, scaffolding, or high-lift equipment.


Rarely, the employee in this position may be required to work overtime and/or shift work when work requires and can't be accomplished during regular working hours, and when management deems it necessary.


Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (hard hat, vest, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and are not for personal use.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED Four years of experience in the painting trade to include applying paint, varnishes, stains and other coatings to interior and/or exterior surfaces with brush, roller or other tools, etc.; This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally. Must work safely and promote a safe work environment.Employee will be required to climb and work on ladders, scaffolding, or high-lift equipment. 
Ability to become proficient in the use of "AIM" Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology. Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned. Job requirements include occasional use of respiratory equipment. Therefore, individual is required to pass a medical exam to assure physical ability to wear, use, and perform work in respirator, equipment. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Vocational/Technical training in Building Trades or Technical Field/Construction.
