(Contingent upon available funding): 41,000.00 - 55,000.00, Salary Work Schedule: M-F 8a-5p; occasional nights/weekends Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary:

Lead all aspects of the peer health education programs. Will be the primary assessor of student issues and concerns and incorporate outcomes into future programming. Responsible for coordinating health education programs and awareness events, and for serving as a resource for health information for the greater university, City of Stillwater, and State of Oklahoma. This will include interviews with campus media, leading or chairing university committees and task forces and other activities as directed. May include presentations and lectures in support of the academic mission of the University.


Communicate departmental policies and expectations within the Health Education department. Lead the collaborative and coordinated efforts between campus departments and community organizations as needed for special events, programs, research, and engagement projects. Utilize specialized certifications, such as Mental Health First Aid, to lead mental health trainings for students, faculty, and staff.


Primary supervisor of all Graduate Students and student staff, as well as the day-to-day operations of Health Education department programs and events. Handle employee performance issues.


Responsible for all goals set each year including but not limited to budgets, policy and procedure development, and programming numbers. Developer and manager of the health education programming annual budget.


Responsibilities require working some evenings or weekends in order to accomplish departmental goals.

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, or related field/


One year of related experience.


Mental Health First Aid instructor certification must be obtained within three months of hire. Cost of certification will be covered by the department.


Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with little supervision. Able to discuss sensitive topics with students using professional discretion and in a non-threatening atmosphere. Must utilize good judgment and exercise independent thought processes in all job duties, and in the supervision of student staff and graduate assistants.



Preferred Qualifications:


Master's degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health or related field.


Three years work related experience in a supervisory capacity.
